Stonda: PLAYING AND LEARNING: a session in Corsican, Wednesday 9 December 2026 at 6.00 pm, Stella Maria Simeoni & Francescu Maria Luneschi. A short session in the Corsican language to discuss traditional games. Firstly, ‘Incrocia parolla’, which has fallen out of use today but is being revived 36 years after its creation. ‘Incrocia parolla’ was created in 1990 by Marcella Conti, a cultural activist and lover of her language. The game itself is a tool for promoting the language and, for Marcella Conti, it was a way of combining play with the promotion of Corsican resources and craftsmanship through an edition made of larch wood, followed by a reprint in cardboard. With the rise of digital technology, the Corsican language is also spreading through the app. During this event, the Corsican version of MEMENTO PAOLI will be presented – an app developed by the University of Corsica to explore the town of Corti in the footsteps of Pasquale Paoli. The result of research, this innovation focuses on the development of playful activities for learning through play. This event brings people of all ages and generations together around the Corsican language in its various forms.
