Sports/loisirs/sciences

From 18/10 to 18/10.

Parc Galea - Public interview with Vannina Lari, "RITES AND BELIEFS ABOUT DEATH IN CORSICA". Vannina Lari, senior lecturer in regional languages and cultures at the "Places, Identities, Spaces and Activities" laboratory of the University of Corsica and the CNRS, will be taking part in a major public talk on Sunday 18 October from 2.00 pm as part of the Sunday meetings at Parc Galea. Thinking about death on an island requires us to take a look at what man does in his immediate surroundings, with any territory naturally becoming a mediating element between man and his ancestors, both mediators and interferers between the world of the living and that of the dead. Our paper will focus on this management of the boundaries between worlds, illustrating a concept of death that is both archaic and still very much alive on the island. This public talk will be followed by a lecture at 3pm by Renaud Evrard, clinical psychologist, entitled "Near-death experiences: the borderline between reality, science and fantasy". This initiative is part of the PIA UNIversité: pour la Transformation au service des territoires Insulaires méditerranéens, supported by the University of Corsica. Meeting point : Sunday 18 October 2026 from 14:00 to 15:00. Proposed by : Laboratoire Lieux, Identités, eSpaces et Activités (CNRS / Université de Corse), Mission science avec et pour la société. In partnership with : Parc Galea.
