Since 1836, things have hardly changed in any country, and even in the age of information technology, con artists adapt…One might think of Bernard Madoff, the mastermind behind a Ponzi scheme that operated for 48 years… fake bank advisers obtain bank card numbers to extract money from their victims via text message; the Clearstream affair, the Sarkozy affair (Bygmalion, Gaddafi), the Cahuzac affair, the Fillon affair, Le Pen and many more… all of this lends a sense of reality to the adaptation. From Nicolas Gogol’s *Revizor* to real-life corruption and fraud, this provides the Teatrinu theatre company with an opportunity to present a Corsican-language adaptation of the Russian satirical play, enhanced with new scenes in the style of a topical burlesque farce.
