Lecture: POLITICAL AND SOCIAL TRANSFORMATIONS IN CORSICA (1970–1980), Wednesday 14 October 2026 at 2.00 pm, Pierre Poggioli. The history of contemporary Corsica is marked by the emergence of new political demands centred on the Corsican question, which must be situated within the political, economic and social context of the 1970s and 1980s. Analysis of this period continues to inform academic research, aiming to provide a better understanding of the historical, social and institutional dynamics that have helped shape contemporary Corsica. Pierre Poggioli holds a PhD in political science (thesis defended at the Institut d’études politiques d’Aix-en-Provence in 2011) and is the author of several books on the contemporary political history of Corsica.
