PLATEFORME REZO

From 04/03 to 04/03.

Concert: SONGS OF THE SEA AND THE MOUNTAINS, Thursday 4 February 2027 at 6.30 pm. ‘Songs of the Sea and the Mountains’ offers a poetic experience: a concert with narration, blending poetry and monodic singing with understated musical accompaniment. Comprising songs drawn from Greek, Corsican, French and Iberian traditions (shepherds’ songs, love songs, work songs, narrative ballads…), this repertoire traces a journey from east to west and invites the audience to contemplate the Mediterranean world in all its cultural diversity and coherence. As much a literary as a musical experience, this concert seeks to blur the boundaries between folk poetry of the oral tradition and that of ancient and modern poets such as Homer, Sappho, Odysseas Elytis and Eugenio Montale… The duo featuring Timothée Tchang Tien Ling focuses on the Corsica–Greece axis and travels as far as the shores of the Black Sea. The ceterina and the hurdy-gurdy – which imitates the traditional hurdy-gurdies of the Hellespont – are accompanied by Mediterranean drums such as the davul and the derbouka.
