With the support of the Corsican Regional Authority and the City of Aiacciu. Oedipus has a transnational, even universal, origin: it is a story that has already crossed borders. From ancient Greece to Roman amphitheatres – and its rewriting by Seneca – to its journey over the centuries to the psychoanalytic practices of Vienna, via Pier Paolo Pasolini’s Italy, this story has already come a long way. Among other things, it depicts the ravages of power and war, and the disastrous consequences of political decisions on populations. Surrounded by performers and musicians of various nationalities, François Orsoni wishes to extend the journey of the Oedipus narrative, not to confine the resonance of this myth to a single national context, but rather, at a time when nationalism is on the rise, to situate this story within a European context.
