MASTERCLASS DANCING INFINITIES
Sports/loisirs/sciences
From 18/01 to 18/01.
Staziu: DANCING INFINITIES MASTERCLASS, Monday 18 January 2027 from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm. This masterclass, open to everyone regardless of ability, is led by two international dancers, Ian Garside and Darío Bardam, who are outstanding performers in contemporary dance and dance theatre. Registration is via the University of Corsica’s digital learning platform. The workshop is free for students at the University of Corsica; €20 for non-students. Darío Bardam: Viewing dance as a constantly evolving phenomenon, Darío Bardam approaches the art form through principles such as attention and feedback, using these as tools to explore movement. The session also engages with the figure of the ghost in relation to his performance *Phantom*, staged on Tuesday 19 May at the Spaziu, understood as a shifting presence that constantly appears and disappears, opening up dance to a continuous process of becoming through pleasure. Darío Bardam is originally from the Canary Islands. His artistic practice explores dance as an autonomous form of knowledge and processes of disidentification as mechanisms of mediation. He trained at the Teatro Victoria (Tenerife), the Institut del Teatre (Barcelona), the DOCH – School of Dance and Circus (Stockholm) and the JLU – University of Giessen (Germany). Throughout his career, he has collaborated as a dancer, co-creator and performer with Cullberg, Aleksandar Georgiev, Deborah Hay, Cristina Caprioli, Ofelia Jarl Ortega, Philip Berlin and Poliana Lima. He is a co-initiator of the ICC (Imaginative Choreographic Centre) project, co-founder of the STEAM ROOM artistic team and a member of the board of directors of the PiedeBase association in the Canary Islands. Darío Bardam also co-directs, alongside Beatriz Bello, the LAV-C (Laboratory of Live Arts and Citizenship of the Canary Islands). Ian Garside: Trust is an essential resource in any creative process. Recognising one’s instincts and tuning into one’s intuition allows us to examine the mechanisms at play: trust in oneself, in others, and in those with whom we work. Through a playful approach, Ian Garside explores situations of discomfort, risk and danger in order to bring out the conditions for trust. The workshop invites participants to observe judgement and intuition, and to understand how they influence our ability to trust ourselves, the group and authority figures, without compromising our integrity. Ian Garside (United Kingdom – Spain) discovered contemporary dance through classical theatre. He trained at the Laban School in London and at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels. Since 2010, Ian has worked with Punchdrunk in Shanghai, Liquid Loft / Chris Haring in Vienna, and the iconic DV8 Physical Theatre in London, amongst many other collaborations. At the same time, he shares his passion for teaching by delivering classes and workshops internationally to a wide variety of students. Since 2020, Ian has produced the works *Hasta el Infinito y Más Allá* (2021), *Sorites* (2022), *Almagre* (2022), *David & Goliat* (2023), *Azahar* (2024), *No me lleves a misa* (2024) and *Extranjero* (2025), amongst other creative projects.
