MASTERCLAS "MUSIQUE BRESILIENNE"
Sports/loisirs/sciences
From 29/07 to 30/07.
This masterclass offers an immersion in Brazilian music, and more specifically in the world of choro, an instrumental style that originated in Rio de Janeiro in the late 19th century. Through listening, analysis and group practice, participants will discover the role of the mandolin within this repertoire: melody, rhythm, phrasing, syncopation, ornamentation and interaction within the group. The workshop will focus on learning iconic pieces, supplemented by rhythmic and physical exercises to help participants better internalise the distinctive rhythms of Brazilian popular music. Open to mandolinists wishing to discover or deepen their understanding of choro, this workshop prioritises listening, ensemble playing and oral transmission, with the guidance of Claire Luzi, a singer, singer-songwriter and mandolinist specialising in Brazilian folk music.
