LE MECANO DE LA GENERALE

From 19/11 to 19/11.

Cuncertu: THE GENERAL’S MECHANIC, From Thursday 19 November 2026 at 6.30 pm to Tuesday 28 July 2026 at 12.00 am. A classic of slapstick cinema, co-directed by Buster Keaton and Clyde Buckman, *The General’s Mechanic* was released in cinemas in 1926. In 2026, it celebrates its 100th anniversary, which presents a wonderful opportunity to introduce it to as many people as possible across the island, in the form of a film concert, in a version subtitled in Corsican. Part adventure film, part war film, part romance, *The General’s Mechanic* blends several genres into a masterpiece of slapstick cinema. This railway-themed and historical epic is also a living reflection on the relationship between man and technology, as well as on the circumstances of heroism. The musical score for the film-concert *Le Mécano de La Générale* was composed by Bastia-based composer Pierre Reboulleau. The concert is performed by seven musicians (violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet and keyboard).
