From 10/02 to 10/02.
Lecture: ANCIENT CAPE CORSICA: The Land of the Vanacini at the Heart of Trade. From Wednesday 10 February 2027 at 2.00 pm to Tuesday 28 July 2026 at 12.00 am, Pascal Arnaud. Pascal Arnaud is Professor Emeritus of Ancient History at Lumière-Lyon-II University, a holder of the agrégation and a former member of the École Française de Rome. A specialist in ancient navigation and the associated geographical field, he is also a keen connoisseur of Corsica and its maritime environment. Cap Corse is of particular interest as it corresponds to the territory of the Vanacini, known from epigraphic sources and archaeology during the ancient period. From the beginning of the 1st millennium BC, the Vanacini were at the heart of material and immaterial exchanges in the Tyrrhenian region and, more broadly, the Mediterranean.
