From 13/09 to 13/09.
Parc Galea - Public interview with Alexandra W. Albertini: "THE RATIONALIST CRITICISM OF SUPERSTITION IN THE CLASSICAL PERIOD". Alexandra W. Albertini, Senior Lecturer in French language and literature and in comparative literature at the 'Places, Identities, Spaces and Activities' laboratory of the University of Corsica and the CNRS, will be taking part in a major public talk on Sunday 13 September from 2.00 pm as part of the Sunday meetings at Parc Galea. The eternal conflict between science and belief evolves in cycles throughout history. During the Renaissance, scientific progress became significant, with heliocentrism in particular, and this led to a crisis in thinking that lasted until the 18th century. The representation of the world, based on biblical geocentrism, vacillated between two extremes: religious superstition and critical rationalism. This public talk will be followed by a lecture at 3pm by sociologist Bernard Lahire, entitled "The sociology of dreams: nocturnal scenarios as mirrors of our lives". This initiative is part of the PIA UNIversité: pour la Transformation au service des territoires Insulaires méditerranéens, supported by the University of Corsica. Meeting point : Sunday 13 September 2026 from 14:00 to 15:00. Galea Park, Taglio Isolaccio Proposed by : Places, Identities, eSpaces and Activities Laboratory (CNRS / University of Corsica), Mission science avec et pour la société. In partnership with : Parc Galea.
