From 25/10 to 25/10.

Parc Galea - Public interview with Alain Di Meglio, "LE CORSE DANS ALL SES ETATS: les avantages d'une langue polynomique". Alain di Meglio, Emeritus University Professor of regional cultures and languages at the "Places, Identities, Spaces and Activities" laboratory of the University of Corsica and the CNRS, will be taking part in a major public interview on Sunday 25 October from 2.00 pm as part of the Sunday meetings at the Parc Galea. Has Corsican really emerged from its dialectal state to become a language in its own right? Admittedly, the last fifty years have seen the emergence of a language that is much better equipped to keep up with the times. But over and above the undeniable progress that we shall be recalling, isn't there some point in preserving a certain variability? We will explain why a polynomic Corsican language that assumes its variation has a number of advantages. This public talk will be followed by a talk at 3pm by David Le Breton, sociologist and anthropologist, entitled "Tattoos: a powerful language of identity". This initiative is part of the PIA UNIversité: pour la Transformation au service des territoires Insulaires méditerranéens, supported by the University of Corsica. Meeting point : Sunday 25 October 2026 from 14:00 to 15:00, Parc Galea, Taglio Isolaccio. Proposed by : Laboratoire Lieux, Identités, eSpaces et Activités (CNRS / Université de Corse), Mission science avec et pour la société. In partnership with : Parc Galea.
