DIALOGUE FRANCO-ALLEMAND EN FAVEUR DE LA MEDIATION INTERCULTURELLE

International symposium “Franco-German Dialogue in Support of Intercultural Mediation” in partnership with the UFA. The Franco-German University and the University of Corsica, in cooperation with their partners, the Franco-German Youth Office, DAAD France and the Familie Mehdorn Stiftung Foundation, are organising a Franco-German Dialogue in Support of Intercultural Mediation on 21 and 22 October 2026. This interdisciplinary dialogue will bring together leaders from prestigious institutions and experts to discuss current issues in mediation. The programme includes round-table discussions on Franco-German cooperation, on international relations in the face of geopolitical crises, as well as on the role of legal mediation in conflict resolution, and on the significance of linguistic and cultural mediation as the foundation of a free and democratic Europe. The aim is to discuss and propose concrete solutions from a Franco-German and European perspective at a time when the world is facing numerous challenges. This dialogue will provide an opportunity to put forward innovative proposals in the social, political and scientific spheres to protect cultural diversity and strengthen international cooperation. The event will take place in two parts: - Wednesday 21 October 2026 from 6.00 pm: a reception for the various participants and partners at Corte Town Hall, featuring an initial round-table discussion entitled “Twinning and Franco-German cooperation. Current situation and prospects’, followed by the formal signing of a call for Franco-German cooperation and a drinks reception. - Thursday 22 October 2026 from 9.30 am: an international symposium on the theme of mediation, to be held at the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the University of Corsica from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. The event will be held in French. It is open to the general public. Attendance is free, but prior registration is required (registration deadline: 11 October 2026).
