From 10/09 to 11/09.

Call for papers : First Forum of UNESCO Chairs in the Mediterranean - The future of Mediterranean heritage. The first Forum of UNESCO Chairs in the Mediterranean, organised at the University of Corsica, aims to bring together researchers, institutions and cultural players to discuss contemporary issues relating to Mediterranean heritage. It aims to structure a network for cooperation and reflection on the cultural, social, economic and environmental transformations of the Mediterranean basin. On 10 and 11 September 2026, the University of Corsica Pasquale Paoli will be hosting the first Forum of UNESCO Chairs in the Mediterranean, entitled The Future of Mediterranean Heritage. The aim of the forum is to bring together UNESCO Chairs, academics, doctoral students, cultural institutions, local authorities, professionals and economic players involved in Mediterranean heritage and cooperation. It aims to provide a structuring space for reflection and cooperation, encouraging the production and circulation of knowledge, the co-construction of projects and the development of responses to the cultural, social, economic and environmental challenges of the Mediterranean basin. In a context marked by climate change, geopolitical tensions and changes in cultural practices, the Mediterranean heritage is seen as a living resource, at the crossroads of cultural rights, education, creativity and territorial development. The forum is organised around seven themes, including: cultural rights and diversity, heritage and transmission, artistic and cultural education, cultural industries and innovation, tourism and sustainability, heritage and ecology, and Mediterranean cooperation. The event is in line with UNESCO's major international frameworks and sustainable development objectives. Dates : From Thursday 10 September 2026 to Friday 11 September 2026. Campus Grimaldi, Corti. Proposed by : Places, Identities, eSpaces and Activities Laboratory (CNRS / University of Corsica). Sébastien QUENOT, Senior Lecturer. | quenot_s@univ-corse.fr
