Spartera is a vocal and musical ensemble formed in 2016, made up of six singers and musicians based mainly in Upper Corsica. Sharing", as the group's name suggests, is at the heart of its vision and conception of singing, as are transmission and the pleasure of singing. Committed to preserving the authenticity of Corsican song, Spartera offers performances rooted in the island's traditional heritage: polyphonic and acoustic concerts with vocals and guitars, traditional mass sung in polyphony, song/music events combining old Corsican repertoire and contemporary songs... During its concerts, Spartera offers the public as wide a range as possible of songs from the island's culture, with explanations and descriptions of the songs. Much of the music is polyphonic, both sacred and secular, while other songs are accompanied by guitar in a relatively simple style. The ensemble sometimes performs monodies such as sirinatu or lamentu. The basic idea is to share and exchange with the audience.
