Series of lectures: Pasquale Paoli and justice. The Faculty of Law and Political Science, the Équipe Méditerranéenne de Recherche Juridique (EMRJ) and the Lieux Identités eSpaces Activités (LISA) laboratory are organising a diptych of lectures on the theme : Pasquale Paoli and justice By adopting the Corsican Constitution, Pasquale Paoli laid the foundations for an innovative conception of power by affirming the separation between the executive, the legislature and the judiciary. A true precursor, his contribution to the organisation of justice will be at the heart of this series, which will also examine its repercussions during the revolutionary period and in positive law. First lecture: Justice in Paoli's Constitution and founding texts Faculty of Law and Political Science - Thursday 16 October 2025 Second lecture: Image and symbols of justice - Tuesday 18 November 2025 Faculty of Law and Political Science These thematic lectures will bring together historical and legal perspectives on a heritage that is still relevant today in terms of the foundations of justice.
