International Colloquium - Living Bodies, Experienced and Represented in the Mediterranean | Corte, February 2026 We are pleased to inform you of the international colloquium Les corps vivants, vécus et représentés en Méditerranée (3C - Corps. Cosmos. Corse), which will take place on 10, 11 and 12 February 2026 at the Université de Corse Pasquale Paoli, in Corte. Organised by the CNRS LISA (Lieux, Identités, eSpaces, Activités) laboratory at the University of Corsica, in partnership with the journal CORPS (CNRS Éditions), this conference offers an interdisciplinary look at the body as a living body, a lived body and a represented body, in the Corsican and Mediterranean contexts. Drawing on contemporary research in the humanities and social sciences (anthropology, philosophy, literature, history, geography, the arts, cultural studies and sports science), the conference explores the sensitive, symbolic and ecological relationships between the body and its living environment. The body is seen as a place of experience, interaction and transformation, at the crossroads of subjectivity, otherness and the environment. The discussions will focus on three main areas: 1. Bodies and Mediterranean environments, looking at the interactions between bodily practices, territories, ecology and health; 2. Representations and sensory experiences of the body, through imagination, writing, aesthetic practices and sensitive cultures; 3. Bodies, artistic practices and rituals, examining the body as a medium for creation, performance, transmission and cosmic inscription. The conference adopts a phenomenological and ecological approach to the body, inspired in particular by contemporary work on bodily ecology, and draws on the notions of cosmosis (harmony and continuity of the body with its environment) and dismosis (tensions, ruptures and imbalances), in order to analyse bodily dynamics in the Mediterranean in their historical, cultural, social and symbolic dimensions. A selection of the contributions presented will lead to the publication of a special issue of the journal CORPS, scheduled for the first half of 2027. Dates : From Tuesday 10 February 2026 to Thursday 12 February 2026. Immersive room Edmond Simeoni Building, Campus Mariani, Corti. Spaziu Natale Luciani Campus Mariani, Campus Mariani, Corti. Proposed by : Laboratoire Lieux, Identités, eSpaces et Activités (CNRS / Université de Corse). In partnership with : I3SP Institut des Sciences du Sport-Santé de Paris.
