LES CORPS VIVANTS, VECUS ET REPRESENTES EN MEDITERRANEE
Sports/loisirs/sciences
From 10/02 to 12/02.
Cunferenza: Living bodies, experienced and represented in the Mediterranean. From Tuesday 10 February 2026 at 9am to Thursday 12 February 2026 at 5pm. This international conference, organised by the CNRS LISA Laboratory (Lieux, Identités, eSpaces, Activités) at the University of Corsica, in partnership with the journal CORPS (Ed CNRS), co-directed by Professor Bernard Andrieu, and the Centre Culturel Universitaire, offers an interdisciplinary look at living, experienced and represented bodies in Corsica and the Mediterranean. A selection of articles from the conference will be published in the journal CORPS, in a special issue scheduled for the first half of 2027. Its ambition is to develop rigorous and innovative thinking on the body in the Mediterranean. It invites researchers from all the disciplines involved - philosophy, anthropology, history, literary and artistic studies, human geography, sports science, etc. - to think of the body as a living interface between the subject and its environment, in order to shed new light on the interactions between bodily experiences, representations, the environment and Mediterranean cultures. The body is seen here as a place of experience, an operator of relationships, an agent of knowledge and an interface between subjectivity, otherness, the environment and symbolic systems. The speakers will explore the Corsicans' and Mediterraneans' links with 'their land' and the existential way in which they cohabit with their natural environment, through their traditional culture and its symbolic network, and their reactions to globalisation.
