Sports/loisirs/sciences
From 24/05 to 24/05.
Parc Galea - Public interview with Claudio Detotto. "Kidnapping vs. rape: the seriousness of the crime and lessons from the Italian experience". Claudio Detotto, senior lecturer in economics at the "Places, Identities, Spaces and Activities" laboratory of the University of Corsica and the CNRS, will be taking part in a major public talk on Sunday 24 May from 2pm as part of the Sunday meetings at Parc Galea. The talk will focus on an analysis of the criminal phenomenon of kidnapping for ransom. Kidnapping is a serious crime that causes great suffering for the victim and his or her family, and can sometimes end in death. At the end of the 1970s and during the 1980s, Italy was one of the most affected countries in the world, but political reforms subsequently led to a significant reduction in this phenomenon. This public talk will be followed by a lecture at 3pm by Jézabel Couppet-Soubeyran, economist, entitled "Mécanisme et pouvoirs de la monnaie". This action is part of the PIA UNIversité: pour la Transformation au service des territoires Insulaires méditerranéens, supported by the University of Corsica. Meeting point : Sunday 24 May 2026 from 14:00 to 15:00. Galea Park, Taglio Isolaccio. Proposed by : Places, Identities, eSpaces and Activities Laboratory (CNRS / University of Corsica) Mission science with and for society. In partnership with : Parc Galea.
