Cunferenza: Corsica in the Second World War: between instrumentalisation, myths and amnesia Wednesday 18 March 2026 at 2.00 pm, SYLVAIN GREGORI. The question of Corsica in the Second World War has raised many questions and has been the subject of instrumentalisation and amnesia. Myths have also been developed. The role of the historian is to analyse this issue on a scientific basis, using archives, eyewitness accounts and contextualisation. Sylvain Gregori has a doctorate in contemporary history, is director of the Musée de Bastia and a research associate at the Centre de la Méditerranée moderne et contemporaine. Following on from the research he carried out for his thesis "Between continuity and rupture, Resistance(s) and Corsican society (July 1940 - September 1943)", the author has just published a "New history of the Resistance in Corsica", in 2 volumes that shed new light on this period.
