Stonda: Corsican Costume. As part of the traditional dance series, Wednesday 24 March 2027 at 6.00 pm, Marie Albertini & Pasqualina Pergola. The Corsican costume of the 17th and 18th centuries, which is worn throughout the island, reveals its social function. From the ‘baretta misgia’ to the ‘faldetta capicursina’, from the red sash to the chest apron, one can see our local customs and traditions. The creation of these costumes by René Marie Acquaviva is based on the research of Rennie Pecqueux Barboni, published in her book *Costumes of Corsica*. Beyond the debate in the school groups about whether to wear so-called ‘folkloric’ costumes, this colourful display of clothing may well prove helpful in the creative process. A session in the Corsican language during which the costumes of the traditional dance group Ochju à Ochju will be presented.
