COLLOQUE INTERNATIONAL ORGANISE A L OCCASION DES 40 ANS DE LA BANQUE DE DONNEES LANGUE CORSE

International symposium organised to mark the 40th anniversary of the Corsican Language Database: Dialectology in the Digital Age. In 1986, the Corsican Language Database (BDLC) was established and, from its inception, became involved in the production of the New Linguistic and Ethnographic Atlas of Corsica (NALC), for which Marie-José Dalbera-Stefanaggi served as scientific director. The conference organised to mark the BDLC’s 40th anniversary will provide an opportunity to examine how dialectology has embraced digital technology, whether through the digital publication of historical linguistic atlases, supporting dialectological research projects, or producing computer-assisted analyses (dialectometry, supervised machine learning methods, interpretative mapping, etc.), amongst other things. The conference will take place over two days at the University of Corsica and will bring together researchers from a variety of backgrounds who are involved in dialectological projects at regional, national or supranational levels, or in institutions dedicated to protecting and promoting linguistic diversity.
