Adapted from the work by Nikolai Gogol and directed by Guy Cimino, this unmissable comedy promises an evening full of humour, satire and twists and turns. In a small provincial town, the announcement of an administrative inspector’s imminent arrival throws the local authorities into a panic. Everyone has something to hide… When a mysterious traveller is mistaken for this famous inspector, a series of misunderstandings, lies and comical situations ensues. A biting satire, as funny as it is timeless, which subtly highlights the foibles of those in power and of human nature.
