Parc Galea - Public interview with Lucile Rossi "ARGOS: a drone tool for fire-fighting Lucile Rossi, University Professor of Computer Engineering, Automation and Signal Processing at the "Sciences Pour l'Environnement" laboratory of the University of Corsica and the CNRS, will be taking part in a major public talk on Sunday 21 June from 2.00 pm as part of the Sunday meetings at Parc Galea. This talk will present the background and research work that has led to the development of a drone-based geolocation system for vegetation fire hotspots, known as ARGOS. A patent has been filed for this innovation, which has been in use since July 2024 by the fire and rescue services of Haute-Corse and Corse-du-Sud, and partners or buyers are being sought to market it. This public discussion will be followed by a talk at 3pm by Frédéric Courtade, Director of GEIPAN, entitled "UFOs: in the thick of investigations". This event is part of the PIA UNIversité: pour la Transformation au service des territoires Insulaires méditerranéens, supported by the University of Corsica.
