Exhibition "LA NUIT" by Armand Luciani (VERNISSAGE Wednesday 4 February at 5pm). In the darkness and confidentiality of the night, unknown faces tirelessly rise to meet the needs of our society. Night after night, photographer Armand Luciani has followed the steady rhythms of some twenty different trades, revealing the often overlooked facets of this hectic nightlife. Night watchmen, railway workers, maintenance staff, refuse collectors, port workers, security forces, police, firefighters, shopping centre employees, journalists, printers - they all play an essential part in this dense nocturnal puzzle. This exhibition takes the form of a chronological frieze, inviting visitors to travel through a whole night in Bastia and the surrounding area, from 10pm to 6am. "La Nuit" is a plunge into the nocturnal soul of the city, a sober and sincere exploration of the experience of those who live there when the population is asleep.
