A young actress is about to play Charlotte Corday in Peter Weiss's Marat-Sade, but an impromptu visit from three musician friends both disturbs and nurtures her approach to the role. Like her, they are preparing to enter working life. Their backgrounds and training have imposed demands... which they discover that society cares little about. How do they find their place in a world of blurred paths, where everyday life becomes an obstacle course? Working on the text by Peter Weiss and the story of Charlotte Corday, the small band of actors and musicians explore the question of work live on stage. An unexpected irruption - that of a next-door neighbour - further upsets the game. The show unfolds like a living construction site, with songs about economic work, reflections on revolutionary action and, above all, the joy of thinking and performing together.
