The Musée de la Corse is delighted to announce the opening of part of its storerooms, previously inaccessible to the public. Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Corsica's rich and diverse heritage through exceptional objects and items. The opening will also provide an opportunity to go behind the scenes of the museum and understand the workings of the reserves and their central role. Following the Re-Org training course run by ICROM in October 2024, the collections are now more accessible, organised and better preserved. The circulation in the spaces is now adapted to receive the public. Re-Org Corsica training course at the Musée de la Corse. Prices : Museum admission €5.50 (concessions €3) + €6 for the guided tour. Times: Visit every first Friday of the month at 2pm. Length of visit: 1h00. Guided tour by the head of collections at the Museum of Corsica. Bookings: (max. 12 pax) Click here to book your visit. A cloakroom is available for bags and bulky items. Photographs inside the storerooms are not permitted. The Museum of Corsica is opening its storerooms to schoolchildren. The mediation sector is offering two new immersive workshops for young visitors. These workshops invite children aged 6 to 11 to plunge into the mysterious world of the museum's reserves. It's an exciting journey to the heart of the Museum of Corsica's collections! "Hidden treasures": a workshop to discover unusual and fascinating objects. Through anecdotes, pupils will learn the surprising secrets that lie behind each piece. "Explain the storerooms to me": an immersion in the storerooms to understand how objects are acquired, conserved and inventoried. Free for schoolchildren. Two workshops on the reserves run by the children's mediator and the collections manager. The group section is offering a new immersive workshop for secondary school pupils. "Objects and Trades: a behind-the-scenes look at the Museum". This workshop will enable pupils to discover the characteristics of a museum, its collections and the related professions. It's a unique opportunity to understand how a museum selects, conserves and exhibits its collections. The aim of this workshop is to awaken young people's curiosity about the museum professions and offer them an enriching experience that connects them to their cultural heritage. Free for schoolchildren. Guided tour of the permanent collections and the storerooms, led by the museum's tour guide and head of collections (duration: 1? hours).
