Opening times: daily from 10am to 12pm and from 1.30pm to 6.30pm Free admission and freshness guaranteed A project of the Collectivité de Corse (Heritage Department) in partnership with the Université de Corse (the Equipe Méditerranéenne de Recherche Juridique UR 7311 and Sciences Pour l'Environnement / UMR CNRS 6134 SPE laboratories, the Fundazione di l'Università di Corsica) and the Ecole normale supérieure de Paris. Voices are being raised around the world. They are murmuring or rumbling about the same need: to relearn how to live with living things. These local movements are giving rise to a global movement to change the way we look at things. Rivers, forests... are no longer seen as mere resources, but as subjects of rights, with a voice that we must listen to. Among them, Tavignani, the cardinal Corsican river, traces its course from the heights of Lake Ninu to the shores of Aleria, and flows into the Tyrrhenian Sea. In 2021, spurred on by the Tavignanu Vivu collective, it became the first river in Europe to be the subject of a declaration of rights. It's an unprecedented step forward, born of a civic struggle and a deep-rooted link between land, culture and nature. The artistic work devised by Antonia Taddei and Lukasz Drygas, L'eau rit - L'acqua ride, is a sensory journey, a call to rethink our relationship with the environment. In the form of a multi-media installation, this journey from source to mouth sketches out a pictorial, sonorous, poetic and visual representation of the river. This exhibition invites you to come together for Tavignani inside the cistern of the Padoue barracks, in the heart of the Corti citadel. In this eighteenth-century military site, other echoes resonate today: those of art, science and law. Here, law becomes the stuff of dreams, a moving, inhabited, transformable space. Here, art becomes an act, a common language for listening to the waters, defending the living, and why not, rewriting the rules. The cistern becomes a metaphor: A receptacle for water and memories, The echo chamber of a river for which we demand respect, Raw architecture where the imaginary irrigates the political. Enter Let yourself be guided Because where the sensitive meets the legal, the rights of the living can spring forth. Project manager Marion Trannoy-Voisin, Project Manager Citadella di Corti, CdC Antonia Taddei Playwright Antonia Taddei is a playwright specialising in participatory multidisciplinary creations. Her aim is to give art a central role in society by creating strong synergies between artistic creation and public issues. She has designed a number of innovative artistic programmes combining the arts, science and law, notably as part of European projects. In 2023, she set up the Primour association in Corsica, which aims to bring together artistic creation and participatory research-action programmes. Lukasz Drygas Visual artist An artist with a wide range of roots, Lukasz Drygas' career has taken a cross-disciplinary approach, combining artistic creation, critical reflection and collective commitment. He likes to build bridges - between disciplines, between people. He doesn't produce works, he generates situations. And in these interstices, something happens - fragile, poetic - reactivating the political dimension of art as a place of questioning, hospitality and transformation. His vision is that of a surveyor of spaces. His discovery of the Mediterranean from Corsica was a seminal experience, perhaps at the root of his interest in lived space, the places he travelled through and sensitive territories. This installation draws on a multidisciplinary meeting between the arts, sciences and law organised by the University of Corsica (Equipe Méditerranéenne de Recherche Juridique & Fundazione) and the Primour association in May 2025. It will run throughout the summer, with a programme of meetings and activities both inside and outside the cistern.
